Shopping is Torture !!!!

Well of course thrift shopping is not ...Fabric is not... BUT dress shopping for my son's wedding is !!! The problem is, as my girlfiends and I say, is that we don't dress like our Moms or Grannies...or like ........So, I have a date with my loving Sis to go to a fancy mall in Vancouver tomorrow and I am crabby ...Basically, I want a plain, pretty dress that doesn't look awful or costs too much!!! Plus of course I'm a larger size...+16....I'd rather spend less rather than more....So let me leave you with some of the dress images i found on the internet that are at least attractive..
I'll let you know what happens..I asked and no I can't wear my jeans LOL

I am sure you will find a nice one! I like the first one, it seems like one you can wear over and over again and combine with all sorts of stuff! Enjoy shopping!

I agree with you, I hate clothes shopping for myself. Also, am with Debby, I like the first one and think it would look pretty on you! Wrap dresses are so flattering too. Good luck and have fun.

Oh I know the feeling! In today's styles it all seems like designs for the 20 something!!!
With the Canadian $ at par perhaps a trip to the states might be worth the time.I did just that when it was my time...selection far greater!

WOW...timing is everything. I am a size 16 too and while I was at a goodwill looking for "stuff", I moseyed over to the dresses outta curiosity and found a wonderful black and white wrap dress. I am going to a wedding in May and it would be perfect. Don't know what your body type is, but I'm an hour glass, so the wrap actually looks good on me. You might want a simple solid color sheath dress with a little print bolero jacket or sweater, so that in the future you can use them as separates. I'm sure you'll look divine whatever you choose especially if you go with someone to help you.
good luck...wanna see pics too.
