Autumn is coming !!

Although I can moan, kick and scream, autumn is here. We had a lousy wet summer, and for that matter spring; but what can we do autumn is here. The air is cooler, the light a different consistency than summer, and the leaves are turning colour. Autumn is not usually my most favorite. I love the crispness of spring and the possibilities of new beginnings. Summer is full of living outdoors, swimming, friends over and those magical long evenings. Many blogs wax poetic about pumpkins, warm drinks and changing of colours. Me, not so much . I guess to be honest, I dread the dreaded winter months of the "wet" west coast. So mabe this year I can fix my depression, tie up my shoe and get out into the last few days of summer. Maybe this will be the year to embrace fall..We shall see. Tell me what you love about the changing of summer to autumn? How do you cope with the blah feelings of coming winter? Take care friends. Would love to hear from you.

Oh my, gosh, I am an autumn hater too. Here it comes, and right behind it comes winter.

BettyAnn I'm with you on your feelings about Autumn. John Keates says:"Autumn the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness"
I have solved my dislike of approaching winter by escaping to Arizona as soon as the snow flys.
I suppose the best thing to do is create a summer place for yourself indoors..by seeking out indoor plants with blossoms and create a corner somewhere in your home that you can sit with all your pretty flowers smiling reminders of summertime. You can even bring into the home such things as urns and birdbaths and allow your imagination to soar with filling them..bird baths are wonderfull filled with various succulents..bring in birdhouse..various mosses and create vignettes..I'm sure you get the picture.Check out the bookstore for ideas!
I always suffered from SAD..so lots of lighting is a must.
Hopfully these suggestions will get you back to once again the songs of Spring!

I would just like cooler weather. I miss Fall -- the colors, the smells. Nothing around here ever changes. The landscape is always the same. I'm ready for the weather to change so I can stop wearing summer clothes. I've been here 17 years and yet when September rolls around, I want to start dressing in scarves and boots. Sadly, it is still above 100 degrees every day. :/ Hope you are well. best wishes, Tammy
